Taylor

Taylor Swift was a rarity in pop culture: she was the sole celebrity who crossed from country into the mainstream, and to become an international icon of pop culture. Swift left her heritage in country music like a second-skin and proved that she had the best pop sensibility of the time. Swift was the only singer/songwriter who knew how to follow the zeitgeist of popular music out on the road. Swift's early hits, especially the neo tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her skills. But her 2008 album Fearless showcased a writer who was discovering herself and finding a large audience. Fearless became a worldwide hit and not just in the United States (where it earned six times platinum for the Top Ten Hits Love Story and "You Belong with Me") as well as in Canada Australia, the U.K. as well as other nations. Swift managed to build upon her progress through Speak Now almost two year later. With her subsequent three albums, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017) and Reputation, Swift's popularity grew and she found herself in a music scene in which it became clear she was a part of. Her name was always on top of the charts even when she dropped her signature style in her twin albums folklore & Evermore in 2020.
