Allison Chinchar is a meteorologist for CNN as well as HLN. She often appears as a guest on CNN's HLN Weekend Express and CNN International's HLN New Day Weekend. Prior to she joined CNN in June 2015, she worked at numerous local radio stations including those in Atlanta and Nashville. She's reported on fires, flooding, hurricanes as well as storms. In the year 2019 she was nominated for the Emmy award for her coverage of the hurricane Dorian which was a hurricane in the Bahamas. She also reported on in the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011, when more than 350 tornadoes struck on the Southeastern United States in just four days. Over 200 occurring on April 27th in a single day. She has covered weather patterns, climate change and volcanic eruptions and earthquakes because of her experience in environmental science. Chinchar is a graduate of the Bachelor's program in Atmospheric Science, which she earned from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is also a part of the American Meteorological Society, the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society as well as the National Weather Association, and the International Association of Broadcast Meteorology.
